There are currently 6 public middle schools, 43 public primary schools, 19 private middle and primary schools, 99 kindergartens, and 41 nurseries in the District of Xiangzhou. In addition, there are 25 educational institutions for formal schooling background education. The total staff personnel engaged in education is over 4,000 people and the number of in-school students amounts to more than 50,000. Since the establishment of the District, the CPC District Committee and District People’s Government have been placing education in the strategic position for developments with higher priority. Especially after the commencing of implementing the “Project of Bringing Up People” in the District of Xiangzhou in 1995, the education in Xiangzhou has seen swift progress and remarkable achievements. An educational system featuring reasonable structures, complete and perfect management, and strong teaching forces has come into shape to facilitate the well-coordinated developments ranging from preschool education to adult education as well as from general education to vocational education.
